DescriptionBarbourofelis was a carnivorous mammal the size of a lion and is the latest in the family Nimravidae (false TIGRES). It lived during the Miocene, between 15 and 7 million years ago and had the largest canines of all nimravids. The fossils of this animal have been found in North America, Turkey and Spain.
