Description

Barbourofelis was a carnivorous mammal the size of a lion and is the latest in the family Nimravidae (false TIGRES). It lived during the Miocene, between 15 and 7 million years ago and had the largest canines of all nimravids. The fossils of this animal have been found in North America, Turkey and Spain. This skull cast replica was found in Alachua County in Florida in USA.
