DescriptionThis ornithopoda was recently found in Henan, China
where many dinosaur egg fossils have been excavated.
Several general characteristics of the species have been
observed. Since it had unprecedented thin and short
front legs for ornithopoda even though the hind legs
were long and well developed, it appears that it was a perfect walking biped. The first toe of the front leg was very small but spiked just like Iguanodon. The spinous process was well developed from the body to the tail and the
loins were strong for a biped. Overall, it seems that this dinosaur is close to Probactrosaurus (so called, Iguanodon).
Considering the tooth shape and the structure of the tooth battery of the dentary, it appears that it evolved just like duck-billed dinosaurs. Therefore, it can be said that this dinosaur is part of the Probactrosauridae that evolved
from iguanodontidae and close to the predecessor that is the root of all the duck-billed dinosaurs.
