DescriptionAustralopithecus africanus is a hominid which ages around 3.3 and 2.5 million years ago in the Pleistocene. The A. africanus was more evolved than the Australophitecus afarensis, with a cranium more rounded and similar to human, and a larger brain relative to body size.
This individual is known as the Taung Child found in South Africa in 1924.
