Description

Australopithecus afarensis was found in 1974 at Hadar in northern Ethiopia, Donald Johanson. The species was estimated age of about 3.2 million years. Were bipedal and had a small brain. The species has a remarkable sexual dimorphism. The remains best known belong to Lucy, this name because during the excavation was playing the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". This reconstruction has been based on cranial remains of Lucy.
