DescriptionXiphactinus - the fish within a fish. 350 cm.
A reconstruction of the famous fossil from Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Kansas. Supervised by Mike Everhart. Head was sculpted in clay and cast in specially dyed translucent colors. Body carved in styrofoam covered with a layer of fiberglas reinforced Jesmonite. Around 7000 scales in different sizes was vacuumformed, cut out, painted and glued onto the body - one by one.
