Panochthus tuberculatus was an extinct glyptodon from the Pleistocene of Argentina. It's skull, like the bony, was protected by an hemispherical armor made by hundreds of hexagonal scales. (information taken from wikipedia.org) The replica is a skull from that relative of the modern armadillo.
